OBICHOL is an Android focus and digital-wellbeing utility designed to help users manage deep work sessions, reduce compulsive distractions, and control selected application usage.
Android release
iOS version in development
Core tools to help maintain deep focus and digital wellbeing
Structured focus countdowns with Pomodoro and custom durations. Persistent notification foreground service keeps track of remaining session time.
Restricts selected distracting applications while a focus session is active. Uses Android Accessibility Service to intercept restricted apps with an unobtrusive reminder screen.
Monitor daily screen time per application using Android Usage Access. Set strict daily caps to prevent habitual overconsumption.
Organize your workflow into priority tasks and subtasks directly tied to active focus sessions.
All session histories, blocked app preferences, and task lists remain strictly on your device using encrypted Room database storage. No cloud account or external sync required.
Automatic state recovery using BootReceiver and exact alarms so unexpected device restarts do not lose active timer progress.

OBICHOL only requests permissions needed for core focus and wellbeing features. You can grant or revoke them anytime in Android Settings:
Only needed if you choose to block distracting applications during active focus sessions. Allows OBICHOL to detect when a blacklisted app is brought to foreground.
Optional permission to calculate time spent on specific apps so daily limits can be enforced.
Required on Android 13+ to keep the focus countdown active when the screen is locked and display the ongoing timer.
Enables accurate timing countdowns and restores scheduled session timers if your phone restarts.
Local-first and private by design
Local Storage: Your focus session logs, active timers, app rules, and tasks stay on your device in offline storage. No account, sign-up, or cloud connection is required.
Online Submissions: Only messages you explicitly submit through the website support, feedback, or suggestion forms are sent to Doyox.
